(Picture – with Amna and her parents at a site where slaves were gathered)
I had a request from a young lady, Amna Khaliq, in Canada to assist her with a volunteer activity with a dentist. She was from Alberta and had gotten my name from a contact in Nova Scotia. I arranged for this to happen and greeted her and her parents when they arrived in Banjul, The Gambia.
We spent a lot of time together over the three weeks they were there and managed to take in many sites. Amna had a very good experience with her dentist who was most welcoming and very supportive. Her parents enjoyed the opportunity provided to at least see a little of the country.
These photos are a glimpse of our time together.
